Service Improvement!

In an effort to improve services to individuals with disabilities, NY Waterway has made Pier 11 more accessible and has added improvement on board our vessels. The following is a list of items which have been implemented:
- All NY Waterway crew members have been trained by the United Spinal Association in assisting and helping persons with disabilities.
- All non compliant NY Waterway steps and gangways have been removed from Pier 11.
- Portable compliant ramps have been placed on Pier 11.
- Emergency portable gangplanks have been added to each vessel in the event the Pier gangways or portable gangways are not accessible.
- All vessels have been equipped with wheel chair tie downs in the event an individual would like to be secured on board the vessel.
- Signage has been added on board the vessels.
