NY Waterway just released dramatic photos and video of last night’s evacuation of a Staten Island Ferry, when NY Waterway’s Franklin Delano Roosevelt ferry led by Captain Tom Beckedorff evacuated 558 passengers. Included is a 5-minute video of every aspect of the operation. All passengers were brought safely to St. George on Staten Island.
NY Waterway has a long tradition of responding to maritime emergencies, including 9/11, the Miracle on the Hudson and most recently, a capsized recreational boat in the Hudson this past July.
