To Our Valued Customers:
I would like to begin by wishing you a happy and healthy summer thus far! We truly want to thank you for taking the “Better Way to Go.” In order to offer you the most convenient, hassle-free commute, NY Waterway has made some changes and added many conveniences. We are looking to improve our services for you and your family and wish to provide you with the pleasurable experience you have come to enjoy.
We have gotten a lot of positive feedback from our last newsletter so we look forward to continuing to provide you with various news items, monthly themed contests and giveaways, as well as featuring a daily NY Waterway commuter, all of which will surely keep your interest piqued. As you may have seen, our interactive newsletter is available on our website and via our various social media channels like Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare.
Please be on the lookout for announcements on partnership updates with Broadway, including additions like the newest show, Zarkana. There will be an array of contests and giveaways to encourage our customers to see the show and to take the “Better Way to Go” to get there. We had the opportunity to see this truly amazing show and hope you get to experience the same.
We are also ecstatic about the responses we have been getting from our fans on all of our social media platforms. We have noticed everyone participating by posting, commenting, “tweeting,” and “checking-in.” Not only does this make riding the ferry fun and interesting, it also adds the convenience to relay your questions, concerns and compliments to us, with an almost immediate response from our social media team. This technology amazes me, as I am still learning how to check-in and tweet from our various locations. Please get social with us and “follow” and “like” us to see what the buzz is all about.
I also wanted to remind our valued customers about the GPS Bus Locator that we released in late spring. This new technology makes me very excited, especially when our customers stop me in the terminals to rave about how much it has helped them in their travels. The GPS Bus Locator is available on the Weehawken and New Jersey routes as well as in Manhattan. And we have even added our East 34th Street route for those traveling on the East River. In the heat of the summer, you will have the peace of mind to know where your ride is and when it will be arriving. Plan ahead and check out the real-time maps with our GPS Bus Locator.
With the start of July and the hot summer days, I have noticed a great deal of people at our Port Imperial Terminal taking advantage of our outside deck at Robongi. It is delightful to see people taking the time to soak up the sun, whether enjoying a summer cocktail outside, indulging in the wonderful food available at our terminal, or just waiting for the next ferry to arrive. I encourage each and every one of you to experience the exterior of our terminal and to see all the sights and sounds the summer on the Hudson River has to offer. How beautiful it truly is!
And how could I forget our NEWEST service, NY Waterway’s East River Ferry, which connects communities in Queens and Brooklyn to Manhattan and Governors Island. We have gotten an enormous amount of positive feedback from many commuters and leisure-travelers about the added option to get in and out of Manhattan and the surrounding outer-boroughs. For those of you residing in New Jersey and others utilizing our West 39th Street/Midtown location, you, too, can get to the East Side the easier way. If you are coming from our Midtown Terminal, please take one of our bus routes that stops along 6th Avenue. From there, hop off at 6th Avenue along 35-49th Streets that cross 6th Avenue to catch the East 34th Street Shuttle, which will also take you to our East 34th Street/Midtown location - one of the stops for our new East River ferry service. We hope this added service proves to be useful to all of you in your many travels in and around the area. And guess what? The East River Ferry is on social media too! Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare!
